District offers adult English, GED classes

English Class: Park City School District is offering adult English classes Sept. 18 through Nov. 15. Classes are $40 and taught Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6-9 at the Park City Learning Center, 2400 Kearns Blvd. Beginner, intermediate and advanced levels are offered. Free childcare is also provided.

Those interested in the class are asked to bring a document that shows their current address with their full name.

GED Class: The district also offers a Spanish high school completion and GED preparation class Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5-8. The class is taught Tuesdays at the Park City Learning Center and Thursdays at the Summit County Library, 1885 W. Ute Blvd. Cost is $40 and the class runs throughout the year.

  1. I think it’s great that we’re helping people to learn English . But why can’t this be extended both ways? For me to learn Spanish, I would have to pay $159 (and no free child care). I’d absolutely sign up to learn a second language for $40/session. So, are English speaking students fees being used to teach someone else a second langauge? Thanks!
